Stabilizing Light

Stabilizing Light (Freising)

Christoph Dahlhausen has realized a large scale light installation for the “Schafhof – European Artist House of Upper Bavaria” in Freising. “Stabilizing Light (Freising)” combines blue fluorescent light tubes, ordinary steel scaffolding tubes, known from building sites.

Stabilizing Light (Freising) (in a certain sense) is site specific and autonomous at the same time. Dark steel tubes, marked with traces from regular use, build a strong contrast to the bright blue fluorescent light. The steel structures’ dimensions are 6.05 x 8.3 x 5.2 m (h x w x d) and are fixed by usual scaffolding steel clamps.
